【摘要】:Itisimportantthatengineoilsfromdifferentmanufacturersbehomogeneousandmisciblewitheachother,becauseoperatorsofautomotiveenginesoftendonothavepriorknowledgeofthemanufactureroftheoilthatiscurrentlyusedintheirapplication,andenginefailurecanoccurifoilsarecombinedthatdonotstayhomogeneousandfunctionproperly.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationifanautomotiveengineoilishomogeneousandwillremainso,andifitismisciblewithcertainstandardreferenceoilsafterbeingsubmittedtoaprescribedcycleoftemperaturechanges.ThistestmethodisverysimilartothehomogeneityandmiscibilitytestdescribedinFED-STD-791/3470.1.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
