【摘要】:Whensubjectedtonormalin-usetrafficconditions,aflooringmaterialisexposedtoabrasioncausedbythedestructiveactionoffinehardparticles.Thissituationoccurswheneveraparticle-pollutedintermediatelayerexistsbetweentrafficbodies(thatis,shoesandaflooringsurface).Undercontinuingexposuretoanx201C;abrasiveaction,x201D;aflooringmaterialmaysufferathicknesslosssufficienttoreduceitsservicelife.Abrasionresistancemeasurementsofresilientfloorcoveringscanbecomplicatedsincetheresistancetoabrasionisaffectedbymanyfactors.Oneoftheseisthephysicalpropertiesofthematerialinthefloorcoveringsurface,particularlyitshardnessandresilience.Thetypeanddegreeofaddedsubstances,suchasfillersandpigments,canalsoaffectabrasionresistance.Itcanalsobeaffectedbyconditionsofthetest(forexample,thetypeandcharacteristicsoftheabradantandhowitactsontheareaofthespecimenbeingabraded,includingthedevelopmentanddissipationofheatduringthetestcycle).Thesurfacecharacteristicsofthespecimen,suchastype,depth,andamountofembossing,canlikewiseaffecttheabrasionresistanceofresilientfloorings.Thistestmethodisdesignedtosimulateonekindofabrasiveactionandabradantthataflooringmayencounterinthefield.However,resultsshouldnotbeusedasanabsoluteindexofultimatelifebecause,asnoted,therearetoomanyfactorsandinteractionstoconsider.Alsoinvolvedarethemanydifferenttypesofservicelocations.Therefore,thedatafromthistestmethodareofvaluechieflyinthedevelopmentofmaterialsandshouldnotbeusedwithoutqualificationsasabasisforcommercialcomparisons.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthelaboratoryprocedurefordeterminingtheabrasionresistanceofresilientflooringusinganabraderwithagritfeeder.1.2TheequipmentusedinthistestmethodisamodificationoftheTaberabraser.Theregularceramicwheelsarereplacedbyleathercladbrassrollers.Agrit-feedingdevicefeeds240-meshaluminumoxidegritontothespecimenbeforeitpassesundertheleathercladrollers.Usingtheexhaustsystemincorporatedintheapparatus,theusedgritandabradedmaterialarecontinuouslyremovedafterpassingunderbothrollers.1.3Thistestmethodemploysarotary,rubbingactioncausedbythedualabradingwheels.Onewheelrubsthespecimenfromthecenteroutwardandtheotherfromtheoutsidetowardthecenter.Thewheelstraverseacompletecircleandhaveanabrasiveactionontherotatingspecimenatallangles.Itisfeltthatthisactionapproachesthetwistingactionbetweenshoeandfloorthatoccurswhenapersonturns.Theuseofloosegritservesthefunctionofanabradantandalsoaidsintherollingactionfelttobecharacteristicofnormalwalking.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
