【摘要】:Thistestmethod,usingaslowrateofheating,providesauniformtemperaturethroughoutthespecimen.Theslowrateofheatingisnecessarybecauseofthelowthermalconductivityofsomeliquidssuchaspaints,resins,andrelatedproducts,andalsobecauseofthepoorheattransferbyconvectioninhigh-viscosityproducts.Sincethespecimenisbeingheatedatareducedrate,thelongertimeintervalbetweeneachdeterminationisnecessarytoreestablishaftereachflashtestthesaturationconcentrationofvaporintheairspaceabovethespecimen.Note18212;ISO1523isusedinUnitedNationsRecommendationsforTransportationofDangerousGoodsandintheInternationalCivilAviationOrganization(ICAO)regulationsandforsimilarregulationsintheInternationalMaritimeDangerousGoods(IMDG)code.TestMethodD3941,whichissimilartoISO1523,isusedintheUnitedStatesDepartmentofTransportation(USDOT)regulations.TheICAOandIMDGcodesareusedfortransshipmentofhazardousmaterialsthroughtheUnitedStatestoothercountries.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheflashpointofliquidsinwhichthespecimenandtheair/vapormixtureaboveitareapproximatelyintemperatureequilibrium.1.2Thistestmethodislimitedtoatemperaturerangefrom0to110176;C(32to230176;F).1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandardshouldbeusedtomeasureanddescribethepropertiesofmaterial,products,orassembliesinresponsetoheatandflameundercontrolledlaboratoryconditionsandshouldnotbeusedtodescribeorappraisethefirehazardorfireriskofmaterials,productsorassembliesunderactualfireconditions.However,resultsofthistestmaybeusedaselementsofafireriskassessmentwhichtakesintoaccountallofthefactorswhicharepertinenttoanassessmentofthefirehazardofaparticularenduseThisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
